"성 마틴이 백마를 타고온다."는 체코에서 11월 상반기에 종종 눈이 시작되는 것과 관련한 체코의 날씨관련 표현(pranostika; 날씨 예보와 관련한 민속)입니다. 성 마틴의 날은 전통적으로 단지 첫눈이 오는 것 뿐만 아니라 추수 이후의 농부들과 새로운 와인을 축하하는 것과도 관련이 있는데, 동 축제의 날에는 대림절(Advent)에 앞서 구운 거위와 올해 첫 수확한 와인을 마시며 이 날을 기념합니다. 체코내 와인숍과 레스토랑에서 오전 11시 11분에 첫 잔을 따르며, 잘 구워진 거위요리를 스페셜 메뉴로 제공합니다. [운영진]
„Svatý Martin přijíždí na bílém koni“ (St. Martin is coming on a white horse) is a Czech pranostika (folklore related to prediction of the weather) that signifies the first half of November when it often starts to snow. St. Martin’s Day (November 11) is the traditional feast day before Advent where Czechs ceberate with roast goose and young St. Martin‘s wine from the recent harvest. Traditionally, this day was associated not only with the coming of the first snow but the end of the year’s harvest season for farmers and the celebration of new wine. Throughout the whole country, wine shops and restaurants will pour the first of the St. Martin‘s wine at precisely 11:11am and offer special menus featuring the golden goose. [운영진]
